Jackie has lived across the US but spends most of her time in the Charlotte, NC area. She graduated with a BA in Environmental Studies from Davidson College, where she studied the impacts of wind energy on avian populations. She went on to complete several internships at raptor centers and abroad with nonprofit sustainability programs. She later graduated with an MA from Columbia University in Ecology, Evolution and Environmental Biology where she studied the genetics of plumage polymorphism in Red- tailed hawks in conjunction with the American Museum of Natural History. She continued this work at Auburn University, earning an MSc in Biology with a focus on raptor genomics and a Certificate in Computational Biology. She also enjoyed working with the Auburn University Museum of Natural History in preparing and archiving avian specimens and assisting with summer workshops.
At CSG, Jackie works on the Lead-Free Ammunition Distribution Program for the Hunters for Eagle Conservation initiative, and is passionate about conserving raptors and the American hunting tradition.
When not working, Jackie enjoys hunting, bird-watching, and caring for her exotic animals. She breeds ball python morphs and cares for two wolf hybrids. She’s also a master falconer and hunts small game with hawks.
